Q: Can I use my camera in the butterfly house?
A: Yes! You're welcome to use cameras, videos and other photographic equipment (including tripods) here. You may find that your lens mists up to begin with, but this soon goes and shouldn't cause any lasting damage.

Q: When are you open and how much does it cost?

Q: How long will I need to visit?
A: Tropical Wings is situated on 9 acres and we have a full daily programme of events to keep you entertained, so to get full value for money many of our visitors stay all day! However if you're looking for a shorter visit you should allow at least 2 hours.

Q: Is Tropical Wings wheelchair friendly?
A: Yes! We operate a "Welcome All" policy and the park is fully accessible to wheelchairs. (use the Back button on your browser, or click the FAQs button on the top menu to return to this page) You may find the little wooden bridge over the pond in the Tropical House is not suitable. However, we offer a short alternative route, without the need to miss anything! We also have toilets for the disabled and allocated parking spaces close to the main entrance for disabled badge holders.

Q: Are dogs allowed?
A: Sorry - we operate a "No dogs except guide dogs" policy here.

Q: Can I bring a picnic?
A: Yes! We have several picnic areas, some of which are undercover. Please note: only food purchased in the Butterfly Tea Rooms may be consumed at the Butterfly Tea Room's Picnic Tables, these are clearly marked.

Q: Is it worth coming on a rainy day?
A: Definitely! We are an all-weather attraction. The many undercover areas include The Tropical Butterfly House, Discovery Kingdom, Caterpillar Corner, Reptile House, Video Room, Activity Marquee, Wise Owl Barn and covered picnic sites. In bad weather we can use these areas for additional Animal Encounters or impromptu presentations, ensuring you keep as dry as possible on a rainy day!

Q: Do you host Birthday Parties?
A: Sorry - it isn't currently possible to book a hosted party here. However, many people choose to bring a group as a celebration, and enjoy all the daily Animal Encounters. Q: Is it just for kids?
A: No! Tropical Wings has something for everyone, no matter what your age or interest!

Q: Isn't it all just butterflies and birds?
A: No! Our wildlife park is a whole "World of Wildlife". Check out some of the many Animals you may encounter during your visit.
